Questions: support@vinote.co.uk
1. Agreement to these terms
By downloading, installing or using Vinote (the "app") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. We may update these terms from time to time; if a change is significant we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Vinote afterwards means you accept the new terms.
2. Eligibility and your account
You need an account to keep a journal. You must be old enough to buy alcohol where you live, and you're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time — see Delete account.
3. Your content
Your notes, ratings, photos and anything else you add to your journal belong to you. By using Vinote you give us only the limited permission we need to store your content, show it back to you, and run the features you ask for — label recognition, search, Ask Vinote, Palate Profile and sharing. We don't sell your journal, and we don't use it to advertise to you or anyone else. How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
4. Our intellectual property
The Vinote app, its design, logo and the Vinote name belong to us. These terms don't give you any rights to use them outside of using the app as intended.
5. Free plan and Premium
The free plan includes every feature, with a lifetime allowance of 10 wines and 20 Ask Vinote questions. Premium removes those limits. Subscriptions are sold and managed by the App Store or Google Play — billing, currency, renewals, cancellations and refunds all follow that store's own rules, and you can cancel any time from your app store account settings. Prices may change; we'll give notice before a change affects your next renewal. If you cancel or a subscription lapses, nothing is deleted — you're simply back on the free plan's limits for adding new entries.
6. Acceptable use
Please don't try to break, reverse-engineer, copy, resell or automate the app, upload anything unlawful or infringing, or use Ask Vinote to attack or overload the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.
7. Label reading and Ask Vinote
Both features use automated image recognition and language models, and they get things wrong sometimes. Treat what they return as a helpful draft, not fact — particularly anything about allergens, alcohol content or provenance. Always check the bottle. Ask Vinote answers using your own journal entries; it isn't professional advice of any kind.
8. Third-party services
Vinote relies on services we don't control, including the App Store, Google Play, and the infrastructure providers we use to run the app. Your purchases are subject to Apple's or Google's own terms in addition to these. We aren't responsible for outages or changes on their end.
9. Disclaimers and liability
We aim to keep Vinote running and accurate, but we can't promise it will be available without interruption or always error-free, and features may change as the app develops. The app is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited, or affects your statutory consumer rights.
10. Termination
You can stop using Vinote and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if we need to for legal or security reasons — where reasonably possible, we'll tell you why.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights if you live elsewhere.
